I'm a storyteller by nature, so I wanted to tell the tale of our lead character "Joey" as he walked his path and searched for greatness. Up until April 30th, 2008, I had a day job where I worked in sales and sold NASCAR posters, calendars and other stationery products into retail stores. Then, on May 1st, 2008, I started my “new life” as a full-time, working musician. I wasn’t sure about the future or what it would all entail, but I knew I had a passion for writing and performing. Fast forward to today, 12 years later, and “Late Bloomer,” a song I co-wrote with Thomas Daugherty will be featured on the soundtrack to the brand new NASCAR Heat 5 video game on PS4 and Xbox One. Australian rocker, actor and teen idol Rick Springfield launched his U.S. music career with the 1972 single “Speak to the Sky” but burst into international stardom in the ’80s with 16 Top 40 hits, including “Jesse’s Girl,” “I’ve Done Everything for You” and “Don’t Talk to Strangers.” More recently, he has enjoyed a career resurgence with his well-received 2016 album, Rocket Science, and his roles in the 2015 film Ricki and the Flash, HBO’s True Detective and other TV series. Recording the Heineken Sessions...so far |

Had a great first session down in Awendaw last week. Was lucky enough to have local legends, Gary Greene (drums), Hank "you very" Futch (upright bass) and Charlie Thompson (pedal steel) lay down some tasty parts. I nailed almost all of my vocal parts - thanks to some great coaching from my producer (a legend in his own right) Mark Bryan. The week of 6/22 will see us finish the tracking phase of the EP. After months of planning, writing and creating, I'm finally recording my new EP beginning Sunday, 6/30. I'll be making the drive back to the beautiful city of Charleston, SC to link up with my producer Mark Bryan. His fantastic studio is named Stone Point and it's in scenic Awendaw, SC. College Tour will start this fall! |

Greetings from Zionsville, I wanted to let you all know I recently joined the roster of artists being represented by Wally's World of Entertainment. Don't let the name fool you - these guys are legit: (www.houseofwally.com). They are a national college booking agency based in Nashville, TN and are eager to work with me and help me build a nationwide following via college campus performances. Some big name artists (John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson) got their start performing on campuses, and I'm excited to follow in their footsteps and begin this new adventure. I'm teaming up with my Kickstarter video director, Kurtis Bowersock, on 6/4 to shoot a promo video for the college market. I'll keep you posted on its progress.There will be a lot of travel involved with this undertaking, so I have to give big credit to my lovely wife for all of her support and encouragement in regards to my career. Five songs for #BWEP33 have been selected! |

Well, after driving 1860 miles, I'm home from a long week in GA and Charleston, SC. My producer and I have settled on the five songs for the new EP. We're still working out a few kinks, but we'll be recording full-band versions in July. The titles are as follows: "SaraZona," "Indiana Summer," "Sophia's Winery," "If You Can Get It," and "Sooner Or Later." I can't wait to share these with my fans! -Brett |
